Summer/Fall Leadership Auditions 2014

To ALL Returning Members for Summer & Fall 2014:

Leadership auditions are coming! In years past, we have had an informal review of leadership as we have moved from season to season. Beginning this year with our evolving band program, we, along with ALL OF THE BAND LEADERSHIP POSITIONS, will be having formal auditions/re-auditions.

ANY student who has participated in any season (Summer, Fall or Winter Guard) is eligible to audition/interview. Captain preference will be given to a student who has participated in a Summer & Fall season.

Available Leadership Positions for the 2014 Summer/Fall Seasons:
1. Guard Captain
2. Squad Leader (assists the captain & coach; may specialize in weapons, dance or baton)
3. Possible 2nd Squad Leader (if we have a team of 10 or more)
4. Equipment Manager (responsible for making sure equipment is cared for, inventoried and gets to shows)

Guard Leadership Auditions/Application process

1- Fill out leadership Application. This includes information such as: previous experience, other activities you're planning on being involved in during Summer/Fall, how you work with others and short essay on what integrity means in the context of band/color guard leadership. This will be available soon.


2- Attend the leadership training (mentioned in the email he sent last week) provided by Mr. Roberts. 4/3, 4/4, 4/15, 4/16, 4/17, 4/18 7:00-7:40 am in Mr. Roberts Office. Some of these dates after spring break may be unnecessary for the guard as they will involve learning to conduct music. The dates will be noted and removed when that information is available.

3- Participate in a short interview with Sarah & Mr. Roberts

4- Perform one version of the parade routine for Sarah & Mr. Roberts. Videos linked on the Video Page.
