Hey ladies!
After the director's meeting yesterday, I have a LOT of information for you- PLEASE take a few minutes and read it all.
1- We now know where most of the competitions are going to be held- those are posted on the blog now. There is only one location that has not been announced because there isn't a school hosting yet. We're going to try to get the competition at SFHS! If we can, that will be a HUGE fundraiser for us. I'll post more information as I have it. Right now, we're going to have to see if the city, who uses the school for city basketball, will let us have the gyms in the afternoon. If anyone has contacts for that program, I'd love to know who they are!
2- At the meeting yesterday, a rule was clarified about age eligibility for participation. There is ONLY an upper limit, meaning, only students who have graduated are ineligible to participate on a high school team. If you have younger siblings, friends etc. in elementary school (older grades) or junior high that are in the SFHS boundaries who would like to participate, they are welcome to join! With our show theme, I would LOVE to have many ages of children and teenagers to do swing flag & dance. And, the more people who participate, the lower the group fees are.
3- The season entry fee for our team did not end up increasing this year. WOO! After getting that information and hearing about all of the wonderful fundraising ideas you ladies have, I've adjusted the payment plan and extended it into another month. My hope is that by spacing it a little more you will be able to earn more through fundraising.
4- Speaking of fundraising... If you volunteered to get information about any of the following, please let me know what you've found out so we can get things going :)
-SFHS Stomp after a basketball game
-Gift wrap service (both as a group and as individuals around your own neighborhoods, parents places of employment etc.)
-Selling donuts, juice, hot chocolate etc. before school at SFHS
-Carnations and/or candy gram sales around Valentines day
-Am I missing anything else?
